How laparoscopic cholecystectomy works
Gallstones form when bile concentrates and hardens inside the gallbladder. Laparoscopic surgery removes the gallbladder to relieve symptoms and reduce the risk of complications.
Healthy gallbladder
The gallbladder stores bile from the liver and releases it during digestion to help digest fats.
Stone formation
Changes in bile can form stones that block the gallbladder outlet and cause pain.

The gallbladder is safely removed using minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery.
